The chain of lakes starting in Old Forge have a summer mail boat for residents. Maddy and Grandma spent a early morning this August waiting to see the mail boat come by.
There is a wonderful place called The Wild Center that opened up in Tupper Lake last year. Lots of nature trails for kids, huge tanks of fish, turtles, otters, the girls loved it. They spent a LOT of time watching the various animals.
All this talk about Zoe and sand, and all this time we have had awesome hand-me-down water shoes from our friend Jen. To think it's August and we just broke these out! Zoe is quite content to stand in sand, with these babies on!
Maddy spent most of her time rolling in sand, or eating it. Zoe on the other hand did all she could to not touch the sand with any part of her body. Babcia makes for a good beach chair.
We spent a week in Cape Cod this summer. Zoe was not a fan of the sand, but she did love the pool in the afternoon - - far, far, far away from the beach.
We are quickly learning that sometimes it's just better to get two of a toy. The girls had a serious battle over a baby stroller at a friends house prior to this picture. We made sure to get two of the same to avert any black eyes.
The girls are now if forward facing seats, they LOVE giggling and pointing at things out the window. I do have to admit, it's a bit more complicated now on longer rides. I find myself constantly fishing for things they drop, drop, and drop again.
The girls have had a blast learning to color with Katie. We'll miss her very much, but VT is not that far away and we'll be sure to send our master pieces to her as well.
